As a partnership school with the Leeds Rugby Foundation, we have been lucky to have access through the year to quality teaching and coaching of PE and several after school sport clubs with Dan Hardy, our partner school officer.
On Tuesday 21st April, the new half term got off to a brilliant start with a visit from Ronnie the Rhino and the coaching team from Leeds Rhino's Rugby League for our 'Day to Remember'.
We had a fantastic assembly telling us all about the benefits of being active and then Nicola and Ronnie led the whole school in a 'Wake up Shake up' routine. Every class then had a 30 minute dance workshop or a multiskills session.
We were even lucky enough to have rising star and first-team player, Liam Sutcliffe helping us in the afternoon.
As part of the link with the Rhinos we have been offered the fantastic opportunity of going to an actual rugby league match and 102 staff, parents and children will watch the Leeds Rhinos versus Warrington Wolves on Friday 24th April. Watch this space for more photos of the evening!!
The Big Game!
We had a great night on Friday despite the result for the Rhinos! Over one hundred staff, children and parents attended the Rhinos game versus Warrington and took part in the half time parade. We learnt new songs and chants to show our support - 'Marching on Together' and 'We are Leeds' and discovered that a rugby league game is a great opportunity to shout! We tried the burger and chips - spot the photo of Mr Nutman and lots of the children can't wait for their next game!
The Rhinos were so impressed with us as a school that they produced a promotional video using our staff and children. You can view this at:
