Safeguarding Me!
What was it?
We designed a week to teach all our children and parents, how to keep themselves safe in a range of situations.
It was an opportunity for pupils to learn about potential risks and allowed them to explore their options and what steps would lessen the risks.
What risks we looked into
We thought about many different ways to safeguard ourselves, including;
- Esafety - Staying safe online http://brudenellprimary.co.uk/leeds/primary/brudenell/staging/pages/parents/internetsafety
- Substance abuse - what can harm our bodies http://www.mentoruk.org.uk/for-parents-and-carers/?gclid=CPnMzPjR1MMCFUPJtAodfmkAZg
- Healthy lifetsyles - looking after our minds and bodieshttp://www.nhs.uk/change4life/Pages/change-for-life.aspx
- Bullying - learning to treat others with respect - including cyber bullying, homophobic bullying and racism.http://www.childline.org.uk/Explore/Bullying/Pages/Bullying.aspx
- Risks in out communityhttp://talesoftheroad.direct.gov.uk/

We led sessions for parents, which were a huge success and now plan to run a 6 week first aid course and a Webster Stratton parenting course.
