Safeguarding and Child Protection at Brudenell Primary School
Safeguarding is very important to us at Brudenell Primary School and is the term used in school for all of our procedures which keep children safe. It includes our health and safety, behaviour, attendance and child protection procedures. See below for more information.
The health, safety and well-being of every child are our paramount concern. We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us. Our aim is for children to enjoy their time as pupils in this school. We want to work in partnership with you to help your child achieve their full potential and make a positive contribution. To promote a safe environment for pupils, our selection and recruitment policy includes all checks on staff and regular volunteers’ suitability.
Brudenell Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school. All concerns are passed to the members of staff who are trained as "Designated Child Protection Officers" in school. The Child Protection Designated Safeguarding Lead role is shared by Jill Harland (Headteacher) asnd Jo Davies (Co-Headteacher).

Child Protection at Brudenell Primary School
All schools have a statutory duty to follow up any incidents which could be considered as a child protection issue. If we have concerns we will be in contact with you to keep you informed, clarify what may have happened and offer support. It is our legal duty to follow up issues to make sure that all children are safe, so please do not take offence if we ask you to discuss incidents which concern us. These are usually cleared up quickly on discussion with you. The designated staff responsible for Child Protection in school are: Mrs Harland, Mrs Davies, Mr Wright and Mrs Kosar.
